Yoga & Cuisine in French Tuscany – A week that will finally help you relax

You work flat out every day – at work, in everyday life, for others. But when was the last time you treated yourself to a real break? Not a quick weekend away, no distractions, but a week that will finally recharge your batteries, both physically and mentally?

In Montgaillard, in the heart of French Tuscany, a combination of yoga, breathing exercises, healthy food and genuine relaxation awaits you. Whether on the open yoga terrace, during communal meals or on a walk through the rolling hills – here you can finally breathe deeply, find peace and recharge your batteries for everyday life.

Carmen, a certified (BDY/EYU) yoga teacher, completed her yoga teacher training after an intensive period in an Indian ashram and offers regular courses in France.

Åsa has been at her side since two years. When she cooks, nothing can upset her. With a lot of love, detailed knowledge and creativity, she prepares dishes that she has learned both from her training with top Scandinavian chefs and in her adopted home of France. She has a particular talent for blending the best of Mediterranean cuisine with elements from her Scandinavian homeland.

Mediterranean Cuisine

Born in Sweden, Åsa combines the clear sophistication of Scandinavia with the joie de vivre of the Mediterranean. Since 2000, France has been her adopted country, and under the influence of French cuisine, she creates dishes that harmoniously combine Nordic freshness and southern flavours.

Carmen Hermeling

YOGATEACHER

Daily yoga practice with Carmen (BDY/EYU yoga teacher) not only brings movement into the day. Under her calm and relaxed guidance, in small groups of no more than 10 people, we practise sequences of exercises that are suitable for beginners and advanced students alike. The dynamic movements, brought into harmony with your own breathing, centre the mind, mobilise and strengthen the body and ensure good posture: 'the gait becomes more upright'.

CHEF AND CICLIST

Åsa herself embodies the combination of a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. Her great passion is cycling, which she spends much of her time doing. She makes a point of using organic and local produce and processing it in a way that preserves the nutrients and makes it a feast for the palate and the eyes. She also appreciates a good glass of wine as part of a balanced and happy life.

Yoga holidays in French Tuscany

The rolling hills of Gascony - home to the traditional French way of life - provide the backdrop for this break from the daily grind. Here, the eye can wander and the soul can rest amidst the vastness of fields glowing in the summer sunshine.

The Château de Montgaillard gives its name to the village of Montgaillard, which has 100 inhabitants and is about 70 kilometres from Toulouse. The gardens of the château, with its swimming pool, are a place of retreat and relaxation. The small, very quiet village is only a 10-minute walk away, but sometimes you can see petanque players in front of the 'salle de fêtes' or two neighbours chatting in the middle of the village street. In between, the frogs in the village pond give a concert.

The countryside around Montgaillard is ideal for walks and hikes through bright fields of sunflowers or past tranquil lakes. Along the way, wild vineyard peaches, mirabelle plums and damsons or fig trees invite you to stop for refreshment.
